Photography That Grows With Your Family

One of the most meaningful parts of my work is being able to photograph families through different chapters of their lives.

Sometimes our story begins with a maternity session, celebrating the quiet anticipation before a baby arrives. Then I may meet that same family again for their newborn session, a first birthday or Cake Smash, seasonal family portraits, and all the beautiful milestones that follow.

I also photograph couples and weddings, and there is something incredibly special about meeting two people at the beginning of their story and having the opportunity to continue documenting their lives as they grow together.

An engagement can become a wedding.

A wedding can become a maternity session.

A maternity session can become newborn portraits.

And before you know it, I am photographing a family that I have had the privilege of watching grow through my camera.

That connection is one of my favourite things about being a photographer.

My Studio

My Winnipeg studio is where many of my maternity, newborn, baby, children’s, Cake Smash, and family sessions take place.

I love creating simple, thoughtful setups that keep the focus where it belongs — on you.

My style combines minimalism, lifestyle photography, and classic portraiture. I am naturally drawn to soft textures, neutral tones, beautiful light, and carefully selected details that complement the people in front of my camera rather than overpower them.

For newborn sessions, I create a calm environment with wraps, accessories, simple props, and timeless setups designed especially for those tiny first portraits.

For babies and children, the studio can become something completely different — playful, sweet, colourful, or minimal depending on the session. Cake Smash sessions are especially fun because they allow me to create a little world around your child while still capturing their personality and natural expressions.

Throughout the year, I also create seasonal studio setups and offer Mini Sessions. I love transforming the studio for different seasons and giving families an opportunity to return year after year and create a growing collection of memories.

Inspired by Nature

As much as I love working in the studio, outdoor photography has a very special place in my heart.

Winnipeg and Manitoba give us such beautiful seasonal changes, and I love using nature as part of the story — soft summer evenings, open fields, greenery, flowers, warm autumn colours, parks, and golden evening light.

Outdoor sessions allow us to move, explore, play, walk, hug, laugh, and simply spend time together.

I don’t want every photograph to feel perfectly posed.

Of course, I will guide you when you need it — where to stand, what to do with your hands, where to look, and how to position your family. But between those traditional portraits, I am always watching for the little unscripted moments: a child running back into their parent’s arms, a quiet look between a couple, wind moving through a dress, laughter after something didn’t go exactly as planned.

Very often, those become the photographs we love the most.

Families & Children

Family photography is at the heart of what I do.

Children grow unbelievably quickly, and every stage has something worth remembering — tiny hands, funny expressions, missing teeth, cuddles with Mom and Dad, the way siblings interact, and all those little details that can feel ordinary today but become incredibly meaningful years from now.

During family sessions, I create a combination of classic family portraits, individual photographs of the children, parent-and-child portraits, sibling photographs, and natural lifestyle moments.

My goal is to give you more than a few beautiful pictures for social media.

I want to create photographs that will belong to your family story.

Maternity & Newborn

Motherhood photography is another very special part of my work.

Maternity sessions celebrate such a short and unique chapter — the anticipation, excitement, tenderness, and connection before meeting your baby.

After your little one arrives, newborn photography allows us to preserve a completely different season. Those first weeks pass so quickly, and babies change almost every day.

My newborn work combines softly posed baby portraits with natural family photographs. Depending on the session, we can create classic newborn images with wraps and carefully selected accessories, more relaxed lifestyle portraits with parents, or a combination of both.

I want these photographs to feel beautiful today and still feel beautiful many years from now.

Cake Smash & First Birthday Sessions

The first birthday deserves its own celebration.

Cake Smash sessions are some of the most joyful sessions in my studio. I create different setups ranging from soft and minimal to themed designs, while keeping the overall gallery cohesive and focused on your child.

Depending on the session, we can also include family portraits, classic birthday photographs before the cake, the Cake Smash itself, and a sweet baby bath at the end.

It is messy, funny, unpredictable — and that is exactly what makes it so memorable.

Couples & Weddings

Photographing couples gives me the opportunity to capture a different kind of connection.

Whether it is an engagement, Love Story, anniversary, or wedding day, I want the photographs to feel like you rather than a collection of complicated poses.

On a wedding day, I pay attention not only to the big moments, but also to everything happening around them — family, friendships, emotions, details, movement, laughter, and the atmosphere of the day.

I believe wedding photographs should remain beautiful long after trends have changed. My approach is natural and timeless, with true-to-life colour, genuine emotion, and a balance between documentary moments and thoughtfully guided portraits.

And one of the greatest compliments I can receive is when a wedding couple returns to me later for the next chapter of their story.

Seasonal Mini Sessions

Every season brings a different mood, and throughout the year I offer a selection of seasonal Mini Sessions.

Some take place in my studio with specially designed sets, while others happen outdoors and are inspired by the season itself.

From spring and summer evenings to rich autumn colours and festive studio sessions, Mini Sessions are a beautiful way to update your family photographs and create a tradition of documenting your children as they grow.

I especially love seeing familiar families return each year. Looking back at those galleries side by side and seeing how much the children have changed is incredibly special.

What You Can Expect From Me

I know that being photographed can sometimes feel intimidating.

You don’t need to know how to pose. Your children don’t need to behave perfectly. And your family does not need to look like something from a catalogue.

That is my job.

Before your session, I help with planning, location, clothing recommendations, and the overall look and feel of your photographs. During the session, I guide you while still leaving space for genuine interaction and spontaneous moments.

I want the experience to feel relaxed, personal, and enjoyable — and I want you to leave knowing that we created something meaningful together.

More Than Photographs

Over time, I have realized that the most important photographs are not always the most technically perfect ones.

They are the ones that make you feel something.

A photograph of your baby fitting into your arms.

Your child laughing with their whole face.

The way your partner looked at you on your wedding day.

Your family together during a season of life that once felt completely ordinary.

Years later, those photographs become something different.

They become part of your history.

And that is why I photograph.
